A Boots store in Southport has been raided after it sold a Viagra pill to a man who bought it online without a prescription.
In a statement, the man, who is not named, said: “We are very sorry to inform of the sale of this business and are very sorry to inform of the investigation by the Police and our customers.”
The man was arrested at the store, on the grounds of his masculinity, on Wednesday.
The Boots store in Southport said: “A Boots store in Southport has been raided following the arrest of an undercover officer.
“Our operations are conducted with the knowledge of the police and our customers in the areas of the store, the shops and on the premises of the store.
“Our store is operating in partnership with the police.
“Our customers and colleagues are in a better position to take part in the investigation and we are fully cooperating with the investigation.
“This is a very serious and serious matter and we are committed to reporting it to the relevant authorities and to seeking appropriate action from the Police.
